The Calgary Carpet Restretch Advantage
Why are we the best in the industry at restretching? The main reason is that we always use a power stretcher for our repairs. The fact is that most (99%) of installers and carpet repairmen only use a knee kicker. The difference between power stretched carpet and carpet stretched with a knee kicker is obvious. If you want to make sure your carpet is repaired properly, insist on a power stretcher!
The cost to restretch your carpet is only a fraction of the replacement price.
Due to the custom nature of the work, the only way to provide you with an exact price is to provide you with a quote. Quotes are free and setting up an appointment is easy with our online request form. The estimation only takes about five minutes, and if you like the price, we usually get right to work. In no time it's like all your troubles are power stretched away!
Ok, so that didn't really tell you anything. Simply speaking, the average cost per room is approximately $80.
So example 1, we recently stretched a large house. It had an L-shaped hallway and four bedrooms, including the master bedroom. Hallways are usually the most problematic areas and are considered the same pricewise as a room. So in this instance we were able to restretch basically the whole house for $400.
Example 2, a small condo needed to be restetched. The two bedrooms were connected by a small hallway. We were able to stretch the hallway from the back walls in the bedrooms. So in this instance the hallway did not warrant larger additional charges. The total cost was $175 for fixing this condo.
We endeavor to provide affordable solutions to your carpet problems. So don't hesitate to contact us for a quote.
Please note that patterned carpet, furniture, and issues with the baseboard may add time and expense to the process.
Some transition metals may need to be replaced and these will be an additional charge.
Our installers can give you an accurate quote and finish the job on time and for the agreed upon price.

Does my furniture need to be moved?
The best stretch is accomplished when rooms are cleared of furniture. With this being said, it is not always necessary or possible to move all furniture. Oftentimes, shifting furniture is all that is required to complete a job properly.
Should I get my carpet cleaned before or after I get the carpet restretched?
We strongly recommend getting your carpets cleaned after. Often times the dirt will collect on the ripples and when the ripples are stretched out, there will be a darker shadow where the ripples used to be. As well depending on the type of carpet, the carpet may have stress marks from sitting in a rippled state for so long. Vaccumming will return the carpet to its pre-rippled state, but a good steam cleaning will solve both of these issues.
If seams need to be re-done, will they be invisible?
The CRI 105-2002 Standard for Residential Carpet Installation guide states: "Visibility of the seams will vary with the type of carpet purchased. Customers should not be led to believe that seams will be invisible."
How much will it cost?
Please check out our prices.
We can give you a rough estimate over the phone, and our installers can give you an exact quote before commencing work.
What if my carpet is delaminated?
Sometimes, after carpet that has been rippled for too long, the backing seperates from the top layer of carpet. In these instances the carpet may be able to be repaired, but in some extreme circumstance, it may not be possible to get the carpet stretched properly.
Why did my carpet do this?
The CRI 105-2002 Standard for Residential Carpet Installation guide states:
Wrinking and buckling are most often caused by the failure to adequately stretch the carpet... , the use of an inappropriate cushion, adverse temperature and humidity conditions, or inadequate conditioning time.
Do you accept personal checks?
Yes we do. In fact we prefer checks, but we also accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Diner Club cards, and a few others I've never seen or heard of before. We do not accept third party out of state checks though :)
Do you accept tips?
Of course we do! And not just tips like "don't eat yellow snow." Many customers are so happy with our work that they do give us tips from time to time, this is appreciated but not obligated.
How can I take care of my carpet?
Light Cleaning
Vacuuming is key to keeping your new carpet looking new. Dirt and grit embedded in the pile will affect your carpet's color and cause matting, so you'll want to vacuum heavy-traffic areas every day if possible. Less heavily used areas can be maintained with once-a-week vacuuming. Vacuum about three passes for light cleaning, and up to seven passes where there is more soil.
For best results, a high suction vacuum cleaner with a beater bar or rotating brush should be used according to the manufacturer's directions. Make sure you adjust the attachment to the proper height for your carpet. For loop pile carpet, avoid attachments with teeth or ridges.
Major Cleaning
Vacuuming won't always take care of your carpet cleaning needs. Sometimes you need to do a little heavy duty cleaning to get your carpet looking like new again.
Many different types of carpet cleaners are commercially available, including dry cleaners, spray-on foam cleaners and wet shampoo. Because there is a chance that these can damage your carpet and invalidate your warranties, contact the carpet manufacturer to check which cleaning method is best for your particular fiber and carpet.
The best method, however, is to hire a professional carpet cleaner to give your carpets a thorough cleaning. When you decide to have your carpet cleaned professionally, choose the carpet cleaner with the same care you'd take in maintaining any major investment. Don't be afraid to ask your carpet cleaner for a reference or a firm estimate. And don't hesitate to call us for a recommendation.
Warranty and Required Maintenance
Regular carpet care and routine maintenance are essential to maintaining your warranty coverage. Over time, normal foot traffic and soiling will cause a change in any carpet's appearance. Hot water extraction, either alone or in combination with cleaning, is required to maintain your warranty.* The service must be performed by a trained carpet care professional every one and a half to two years to refresh the texture and rejuvenate the fibers in your carpet. You must retain your receipts for proof of maintenance service, should a warranty claim arise.
*Do not use hot water extraction with natural fibers. It may cause fading or shrinkage of wool or sisal.
Each fiber manufacturer has its own definitions and limitations regarding stain, soil and static resistance. Abnormal matting, crushing or loss of texture retention from normal foot traffic is defined by the standard rating scales and definitions set forth by each fiber manufacturer.
